This painting was inspired by the song California Dreaming by The Mamas and The Papas. It sets out to capture the colours of a walk on a Winter’s day with crisp grey air and rust coloured leaves. It has many layers of acrylic paint with subtle colours, drips and marks. China marker and oil pastels were used along with gloss medium. Parts of the paint were scraped away to reveal the colours underneath while in other areas layers of texture have been added with a thick application of paint. All these differences result in a visually exciting piece with a complex intertwining of marks. The sides are painted black and it comes ready to hang on stretched canvas with a wire across the back. It is signed on the front and back and will come with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist. It is registered in the National Registry of Australian Art and Artists, registration number supplied.
